2011 “EXPRESS YOURSELF VIDEO CONTEST AWARD WINNERS

Sorenson Communications^® recognizes the power of visual communication, especially sign language. That is why in early 2011, Sorenson announced the second annual “Express Yourself” Video Contest. Sorenson offered aspiring video artists the chance to win cash prizes and the opportunity to have their videos shown through the Sorenson Video Center.

Winners of the “Express Yourself” Video Contest were announced on May 6, 2011, at DeafNation Riverside.

• The winners are:
• Youth (under 18 years of age) category: Daniella - Chicago, IL
• General (18 years of age and older) category: Melissa Malzkuhn - Washington, DC
• Employees of Sorenson Communications category: Robert Giuntoli - Austin, TX

• Winning entries were selected from dozens submitted and were judged on:
• Incorporation of the theme “Express Yourself”
• Originality
• Creativity
• Use of sign language and/or representations of deaf culture
• Cinematography and editing
